Tadlo

Tadlo waterfalls

Tadlo Resort in southern Laos, perched on the fertile, coffee-rich Bolaven Plateau, is a resort where the pleasures are much simpler: clear waterfalls to swim in and side trips to its local farming communities.

Along the length of the river, local people in the traditional clothes of Mon-Khmer cultures fish with bamboo poles. Local villages up river can easily be reached on the back of an elephant (around 5,000 kip/day), and there is great cycling and hiking. Out in the hills live Alak, Katu, and Lawae communities, famous for women with tattooed faces.
